Looking for ways to spice up your diet? In addition to the farmers markets Morgantown has on and off campus, there are many local stores that offer a diverse variety of food options for those who are willing to go the extra mile for good food.

While farmers markets often provide great locally grown produce and more, they are usually only open when the food they sell is in season. This can make it harder for some students to get the fresh, quality food they need. However; Mountain Peoples Co-op in downtown Morgantown provides access to fruits and vegetables year round, as well as other locally grown items like honey, and has a variety of grocery items on their shelves. Next time the food in your kitchen starts to dwindle, head over to Pleasant Street and check it out!

Co-Op 2 Morgantown has to offer many specialty food stores, including Von Son on Beechurst Avenue for traditional Asian food, La Tapatia is a Mexican restaurant and store combo that is located on Green Bag Road, and Kassar’s Market is a grocery store located on Van Voorhis Road that focuses on Mediterranean food. No matter what your taste is, there is a place for everyone in Morgantown to get food that is authentic to fuel for your body.

Next time you see your pantry getting bare, head over to one of these unique stores and find your favorite flavor!
