*Please be advised that all Mountaineer KidZone staff will be wearing a mask while working in the MKZ classroom. Children ages two years and older will be required to wear a mask at all times during their stay in the MKZ classroom. Along with this, parents or guardians dropping off and/or registering their child(ren) for MKZ will also be required to wear a mask.

With an ever-expanding Evansdale Campus and growth of University resources, access to parking has been an ongoing focus for University planners. Several short-term parking lots have been added, including “Short Term 4” adjacent to the Recreation Center. Visit WVU's Transportation & Parking site for up-to-date information.

Some of the most pertinent facts are:

  • Parking fees will be in effect Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.
  • The rate per hour is the same as other surface lots: $1.25/hr.
  • Parking will remain free for the time-being at the Coliseum.
  • Short Term lot 4 near the art museum is also a closer option with a cheaper parking rate.
  • The ParkMobile app and Mountain Line app are two resources that help identify open spaces and alternate transportation.

Mountaineer KidZone (MKZ) is a flex-care center for children located in the Student Recreation Center. Staff provide safe and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged six weeks through eight years of age.

To join, the parent or guardian must be a current WVU student or employee and have a membership with Campus Recreation. An on-site registration must be completed for each child.
