Eligibility
Students
WVU students with valid Mountaineer Cards are automatically members through payment of tuition and “Campus Fees” when currently registered for classes. If a student does not pay "Campus Fees," they may purchase a semester membership for $110.00/per semester. Must be enrolled in classes to qualify.
Employees
Employees must present verification of current West Virginia University employment (a valid Mountaineer Card with employee designation satisfies this requirement) and pay the membership fee. Once eligibility is confirmed and your fee is paid, eligibility will be added to your employee identification card through the Mountaineer Card Office. Spouses/Partners and/or family members will be issued photo ID cards through the SRC Membership Office.
Basic Information
A family’s head of household (alumni) must belong to the WVU Alumni Association to be eligible to purchase a campus recreation membership for themself and/or family members.

- Photocopy of purchase receipt
Dependent Information
- A dependent is defined as someone who lives with a member on either a permanent or temporary basis.
- Dependents must be under the age of 24.
- Dependents who qualify and are over the age of 24 will pay Head of Household/Partner Spouse pricing rates. Our family dependent membership is a flat rate for all dependents.
- There is no charge for dependents under the age of 5.
- Birth certificates are required for the first purchase of a dependent membership.
Approved University Affiliate groups are also eligible for a membership. University Affiliate Groups include WVU Ruby Hospital, WVU Medical Corporation, WVU Foundation, WV Geological Survey, WVU Research Corporation, WVU Faculty / Staff Retirees, WVNET.

WVU Students, WVU Faculty/Staff and our approved WVU Affiliate groups are eligible to sponsor and enroll memberships for their spouses/partners or dependents. A WVU student/employee must be present at the time of a spouse/partner’s first membership purchase and must show valid documentation.

- Piece of mail or lease with both people’s names on it
- driver’s license with the same last name

Enrollment
Members can enroll in a membership at the Student Recreation Center or Downtown Fitness Center Front Desk during operational hours. Please come prepared with required documentation and have any partners/dependents present at the time of enrollment.
