Campus Recreation Day Camp

Overview

For 11 weeks during the summer of 2020, WVU Campus Recreation will offer week-long day-camps for youth going into first through sixth grade. Camps will incorporate activities all across Campus Rec facilities including the leisure pool with beach-style entry and aquatic basketball, our 55ft-tall rock wall that features multi skill level routes, outdoor fields and our full-court gyms. Keep reading for information on age groups, dates and  cost.

Member Registration 


Age Groups

Campers will be divided into three groups based on their rising class standing in school
    • Grades 1-2: Little Buckskins
    • Grades 3-4: Musket Buddies
    • Grades 5-6: Jr. Mountaineers

This week's blast from the past includes decade-themed activites and crafts from the 50's to the 90's. Move and groove with us in our Campus Rec Kids Time Machine to experience them all!

June
1-5

Planets and stars and Buzz Lightyear, oh my! Come explore the mysteries of the universe with us on our journey to outer space this week.

June 8-12

How’s your roar? Dinosaurs and birds come together for this prehistoric adventure. We’ll learn about giant lizards, feathered friends and look for clues to determine which creatures used to inhabit West Virginia.

June 15-19

You don't need to leave West Virginia to enjoy a Disney vacation. You'll learn things you never knew you never knew. There's not telling how far you'll go if you come be part of our world this week. We just can't wait to see our Disney princes and princesses!

June 22-26

Most kids love an adventure, and what's better than exploring the great outdoors? Join us as we partner for a week with our friends at Adventure WV for age-appropriate wilderness events including hikes, giant swings, canopy tours and more!

July 6-10

This year we don't have to wait for October to be spooked or November to be thankful. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, the Fourth of July and others around the world! Be ready for egg hunts, delicious decorations and more fun in the sun!

July 13-17

We're bringing the zoo to you! With special guests and a little imagination, your campers will become expert zoologists by the end of the week.

July 20-24

Ready? Set...Go! Gear up with us for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics! Campers will use their skills to play, create masterpieces and go for the gold with some fun competition and activities.

July 27-31

Ahoy ye pirates and mermaids! Look out for clues and be the first one to find an “X” that marks the spot! All adventurers come out to search for our treasures and sing along the seas.

August 3-7

Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Teachers and Doctors... They may not wear capes, but they are the everyday heroes that shape our lives. During this week campers will have opportunities to meet and greet some of their very own local heroes.

August 10-14

You're a wizard, Campus Rec Kids! This week we are climbing higher, so bring your WVU spirit and join us at the end of the week for a Mountaineer Magic Show!

  • $145 per week / Member Child
  • $175 per week / Non-Member Child
* Campers can register for up to but no more than six weeks of camp.

Registration can be completed at the Student Recreation Center front desk during normal facility hours or online via WVUGo.
