Campus Recreation has suspended all student focused activities for the foreseeable
future. This includes, intramural sports, group exercise, personal training,
club sports, and swim lessons.

Annual Kids Safety and Fitness Expo
This is a free, family-centered event hosted by the Mountaineer KidZone that features
bike safety lessons and an obstacle course, opportunities to play new sports and
games, the annual tug-of-war competition, hands-on demonstrations and activities,
plus health information for parents. Join us each Spring for the exciting event
that brings the WVU community together.
Birthday Parties and Group Events
The Student Rec Center is the ultimate place to host a fun, safe and memorable party
or event! Take advantage of our climbing wall, aquatics area, full-court gyms and
a variety of fun party games for your next event. Whether you’re celebrating
a birthday party or hosting a team building retreat we can help you customize a
package tailored to your needs and interests.
Kids Night Out
Campus Recreation is excited to provide an evening out for parents/guardians and
a memorable night for your child(ren)! Kids Night Out offers a positive and
affordable alternative to having a babysitter for the night. We make it easy and
hassle free, all you have to do is register!
Each month we will travel to a new and exciting country to learn about their culture
and cuisine. At Kids Night Out, children will not only have tons of fun interacting
with their peers; they will also enjoy unique themed activities, group games, crafts,
snacks and more!
Mountaineer KidZone (MKZ) is a flex-care center for children located in the Student
Recreation Center. Staff provide safe and developmentally appropriate activities
for children aged six weeks through eight years of age.
We will not be having camp in person this year, but we are excited to announce that
we will be hosting a free, virtual alternative to camp! Our dedicated Campus Rec
Kids “Virtual” Summer Camp staff has been hard at work preparing ways to still
make this summer memorable and engaging.
The aquatics department offers a variety of both private lessons and
group parent-child water-readiness classes each semester for several age groups.
Youth Climbing Club
Do you have a child interested in climbing?! Campus Recreation’s Youth Climbing
Club is a great way for children to learn about rock climbing. Climbing is a
fun, exciting, challenging way to stay fit and enjoy the vertical world. Our
knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic instructors and counselors will
teach a variety of skills such as technique, gear usage and safety, as well as
route climbing, bouldering and strength/endurance. They will also learn life
skills such as team work, problem solving, trust, concentration and communication.
