BODYPUMP happening outside the REC for Social distancing

Feel the rep effect with BODYPUMP!

Duration: 1 hour

What to expect:  BODYPUMP, the most successful group fitness program in history, is a 60-minute strength-training class that uses barbells and adjustable weights to tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat-burning. After an initial warm-up, all the major muscle groups are worked via a series of weight-bearing exercises including squats, presses and lifts. During a typical BODYPUMP class, participants will perform 70-100 repetitions per body part totaling 800 reps in a single workout.

  • If you’re new to BODYPUMP, try starting with lighter weights first. Slowly work your way up in weight sizes over the course of a few classes and determine what weight works best for you.

  • To see maximum results, attended BODYPUMP two or three times per week. Sore muscles can be a sign of progress, so don’t let them stop you from working out.

  • Participants who are working towards building endurance can leave after Track 4 and can add tracks as they feel comfortable completing more of the workout.

  • Modifications are offered for all movements during BODYPUMP.  These modifications are offered to increase or lower intensity. Participants should challenge themselves but also take modifications as needed. This will ensure that moves are being executed properly while building strength.

  • Pregnant women are able to participate in BODYPUMP if cleared by a doctor. Modifications are available to ensure that mom and baby are both safe.

  • All participants should bring water to each class. If you have asthma, it is important to bring your inhaler.
