Mitchell has served as the Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant since June of 2018. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from North Greenville University (NGU) in South Carolina. He is currently seeking his Master of Science in Sport Management from West Virginia University.
Mitchell began working in Campus Recreation as a student employee in the Student Life Department at NGU with the Intramural Sports Program. Mitchell’s passion for the industry grew when he traveled to Southern Illinois University of Carbondale and Charleston Southern University to complete internships. There he learned the real reason to be involved in Campus Recreation, and that is to see the growth and development in the students that cross his path every day.
Mitchell joined NIRSA as a student-member in 2016. He currently serves on the Region II Student Lead-On Committee. Through working with Competitive Sports, Mitchell developed another passion officiating basketball and volleyball. His goals are to officiate a championship game one day in both sports.
In his free time, Mitchell enjoys playing golf, traveling to new places, and spending time with his friends and family.
