Emily has served as the Graduate Assistant for Competitive Sports since August 2019. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management and is expected to graduate from West Virginia University (WVU) in May 2021. She is originally from Virginia Beach, VA and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management with a minor in General Business from James Madison University (JMU) in May 2019.
While Emily was at JMU, she was heavily involved in Campus Recreation, working as an Intramural Sports Official and Lead Site Manager. At the 2018 NIRSA Region II Conference, she presented an informational session on Conflict Management Tips & Tricks. Additionally, at the 2019 NIRSA National Conference, she was awarded as a recipient of the William N. Wasson Student Leadership & Academic Award. She also officiates high school basketball and is a Philadelphia 76ers advocate.
In her free time, she enjoys working out, hiking, reading and painting. When she is not officiating basketball, you can find her curled up next to the TV watching it.

- Her mother is 1 of 16 children and there are over 100 people in her immediate family on the Knapp side alone
- She was a competitive Irish Step Dancer for 15 years
- She can hold a handstand for over a minute
