Written by: Emily Robinson | WVUGo Staff Writer

The Office of Student Wellness is offering a variety of fun and safe Halloween activities to participate in.

Campus Rec, Collegiate Recovery, Adventure WV and WellWVU are all hosting events to engage students in a safe way to celebrate Halloweekend.

Experience the treetops of the WVU research forest at night on the WVU Night Zip Canopy Tour. Enjoy Halloween snacks during the trip while learning about bats, owls and other forest nightlife.

The Halloween themed tours will be offered Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. A shuttle will be provided from the WVU Student Rec Center to the WVU research forest. Student tickets are $5.

Students can also watch the WVU football game Halloween style at the Collegiate Recovery Halloween Party. In addition to watching football, you can play other games and snack on Halloween themed treats all while wearing your favorite costume. The party will take place on Oct. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Serenity Place. For more information on the party and other Collegiate Recovery Program events, visit https://recovery.wvu.edu/event-calendar/special-events.

If you decide to go out on Halloween night, look out for WellWVU’s Hydration Station on High Street from 8 to 11 p.m. Members of the team will be handing out snacks, water and tips on how to party smart.

Additionally, on Nov. 2, you have the opportunity to travel to the Ascend Climbing Gym in Pittsburgh. No experience is necessary and all gear will be provided. The event is free for students and will take place Nov. 2 from 12 to 6 p.m..

No matter how you decide to spend your spooky weekend, always remember to do it safely!
