WVU’s club volleyball teams brought home high placements at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Tournament. The women’s team placed 2nd in Women’s Division IAA, and the men’s team placed 3rd in Men’s Division IAA. In addition, two members of the men’s team, Jack Barnes and Sean Snyder, qualified to play in the All Tournament First Team.
The women’s team had performed at various tournaments throughout the season, including one hosted at home. Of these tournaments, they attended two ranked tournaments, which allowed the team to qualify for the national competition. Katie Lameka of the women’s volleyball team said of the season:
The men’s team, despite finishing the Spring season with a 9-8 record, placed 3rd overall in the Men’s Division 1AA. Jack Barnes, who joined Sean Snyder in making the All Tournament First Team, hopes that the team uses the momentum from this high placement to do even better next year. Barnes said:
The NCVF National Tournament was held in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 12-14. Divisions included DI, DIA, DIAA, DII, and DIII. There were 48 teams competing in the DIAA men’s bracket, and 48 teams in the DIAA women’s bracket.

“There were times where we were not playing as we would have liked, or the outcome of the game was not as we had hoped. However, I don't think I can remember a time where we quit on ourselves or the team.”
