Collegiate Recovery offers many special events for those of all stages of recovery.
Collegiate Recovery is a program through West Virginia University which helps students and faculty receive addiction recovery. Its program has many programs ranging from recovery meetings, weekly events, to special events. Beginning at the start of Spring semester, Collegiate Recovery will host events at Serenity Place (located at 628 Price Street). No matter the stage of recovery, everyone is welcome to the free events.
Stop by Serenity Place every Thursday for Late Night Thursdays, which will feature sober games, snacks and movies. Movie Night will take place on the last Saturday of each month, allowing students and staff to have an evening of fun in a sober environment.
Also offered are trainings and recovery meetings, such as the Recovery Ally Training seminars in the Mountainlair, Grief Recovery After Substance Passing meetings. Med Chat’s will be held on select days of the semester, which will allow students to ask a medical professional questions.
Collegiate Recovery is taking a Spring Break trip to the Stillwater Canyon of the Green River, which will allow students to have a healthy and sober experience hiking, backpacking, camping and canoeing through the area.
To end the semester, Collegiate Recovery will be hosting a graduation ceremony for May graduates. Stop by Serenity Place on May 15th to celebrate those stepping into the next chapter of their lives.
