Would you take a short time out of your daily routine if you knew it would improve your health?

Let’s face it– life can be busy and hectic sometimes. It’s not always possible to hit the gym as much as you’d like, or take the time to do your favorite physical activity. Can you spare just 15 minutes of your day to begin your journey to a healthier self?

By taking such a few minutes a day to practice yoga– whether it be in your home, at a studio, or in the gym, you are opening your life up to positive change. It’s been proven that daily yoga can benefit every aspect of your life. No matter what your health and wellness goals are, practicing yoga can help you achieve them, and here’s how.

Yoga is a de-stressor. Life gets crazy, and by taking a few minutes to turn off the rest of the world and focus on your inner self, you’ll be able to reduce your stress levels. Many yoga studios offer short classes around lunch-time for this reason. By starting your day with yoga, you’ll go into your routine with a clear and level head.

Yoga burns calories. If your goal is to lose weight, yoga is a good option for kickstarting your metabolic system. By combining yoga with your everyday routine, you’ll be able to burn calories and lose weight quicker. Plus, it’s a great way to switch up your fitness routine.

Yoga improves strength and flexibility. If overall fitness is your goal, yoga is also a great way to help achieve it. By doing daily yoga, your flexibility will improve, as well as core, leg, and arm strength. This can be helpful for fitness gurus of all levels and interests.

Yoga helps with breathing. Going hand in hand with de-stressing, breathing is a large part of your day that often goes unnoticed. Yoga teaches breathing techniques that can induce calm in stressful situations, reduce pain, and improve lung health.

Yoga improves posture. Most people spend their time looking down at screens or hunched over. Practicing yoga will help straighten the spine and improve daily posture. Plus, doing daily yoga in a safe way will allow the spine to receive more of the important fluids for movement.

Yoga changes your attitude.Taking just a few minutes to tune the rest of the world out can make a huge difference on your overall attitude. Practicing yoga just once releases hormones responsible for happiness, which will put you in a better mood. Think about what can happen with a daily yoga routine.

These are just a few of the benefits yoga can have on your life. Challenge yourself to take 15 minutes a day– whether it’s right after waking up, right before bed, or somewhere in the middle– to practice a few yoga poses, and see for yourself the difference it will make in your health!
