Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing overall program operations including teaching instructional
lessons, facilitating activities and addressing behavioral needs of youth participants
- Provide a safe, educational and fun experience for all youth participants
- Establish and maintain positive and appropriate relationships with youth participants,
parents/guardians, and staff
- Represent the Department of Campus Recreation in a professional manner at all times
- Enforce and execute all policies and procedures set-forth by the Department
- Make sound, time-sensitive decisions based on the Department’s mission, vision,
and values
- Attend all required meetings and trainings as scheduled
- Assist with leading, developing, planning, preparing, supervising and other general
program operations, activities, and initiatives
- Assist with special projects and other tasks/duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid Certification
- Policy 49 (Children on Campus Training)
- Must be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in good academic standing
at WVU
- Training and/or experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred: sport education, childcare, camp counseling, team building, experiential education, recreational activities and arts & crafts
