Job Description

Works on the reservations side of events held or sponsored by WVU Campus Recreation. Job includes but not limited to assistance in logistics, development, communications and sales of events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the promotion and selling of all aspects of events, upselling add on activates and making alternative suggestions as needed
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the products and services offered by Campus Recreation.
  • Responsible for checking in appointments, booking services, and checking out appointments daily
  • Response and follow up on generated leads and clients in a timely manner to inform, update, confirm, follow up and other levels of communication via email or phone ensuring that any special requests are communicated and ensured
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting potential clients for site visits and for planning meetings prior to the event, at the guest’s convenience, which could include weekend and evening appointments
  • Constructing contracts, obtaining signatures and issuing invoices
  • Make decisions and take action that represent Campus Recreation in a positive way

Qualifications

  • Must be an enrolled student of WVU; preferably within a Marketing/Sales, Hospitality Management, Recreation Management or related field
  • Must have the following valid certifications
    • Must have an up to date CPR/First Aid and AED certification
    • Title IX training
    • Policy 49/children on campus training

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment:

  • Working with Program Manager and other Special Event Staff to prepare and complete the assigned special event
