Member Services

Job Description

Within the Department of Campus Recreation, Member Services Assistants assist with all membership sales, program registrations, and product sales within the department. Member Services Assistants gain skills and experience pertaining to operational and time management, effective and efficient communication, conflict resolution, as well as leadership and supervisory skills. The following responsibilities listed below will be executed under the supervision of the Coordinator for Memberships and Business Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all fiscal transactions and program registrations for the Department of Campus Recreation
  • Represent the Department of Campus Recreation in a professional manner at all times
  • Provide a safe, fun and clean atmosphere for all members and guests
  • Establish and maintain a welcoming environment for all members and guests in the facility
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all members and guests
  • Enforce and execute all policies and procedures set forth by the Department
  • Respond as needed to emergency situations and follow the Emergency Action Plan
  • Make sound, time-sensitive decisions based on the Department’s mission and vision
  • Provide tours to guests visiting the facility
  • Maintain accurate Pro Shop inventory and assist with re-stocking as needed
  • Maintain the quality of the facility and equipment through detailed inspection and reporting
  • Assist with special events taking place on an as needed basis
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings as scheduled
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in good academic standing at WVU
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others
  • Willing to work morning, afternoon, evening, weekend and break hours as scheduled
  • Possess general knowledge of all Campus Recreation programs

Benefits

  • $11/Hour
  • 10-20 Hours/Week
