Written by: Dominic Ayers | WVUGo Staff Writer

Desserts for the Holidays: everyone is constantly searching for the best of the best, some settle for the average pie or cake. However, I like to go above and beyond when it comes to the most exquisite desserts. My go-to dessert for this time of year is the Mint Chocolate fudge.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup of white chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cup of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1tsp mint extract
  • 2-3 drops of green food coloring

This recipe does not take a lot to make but it sure will take a lot to get people away from it. Now that you have what you need, it's time to put together this amazing dessert for the holidays.

You’ll need an 8x8 pan to start with, line that pan with tin foil with the foil hanging over the edge, you’ll want this later for easier extraction of the fudge. After the foil is placed coat it with nonstick spray. Take two pots and separate milk chocolate chips and the white chocolate chips. And slowly melt in the pots. Take your sweetened condensed milk and add half to both pots. Add the mint extract and the green food coloring to the white chocolate chips and stir until mixed thoroughly.

After everything has been melted and is still in liquid form take both pots, grab a spoon and start throwing spoon fulls of each pot into the 8x8 pan until each pot is empty. Once in the pan pat out the liquid until it is even all around. After this step, you can take a butter knife or a wooden spoon and make a swirl design although this is not necessary. With the last step just take it and pop it into the fridge for around two hours or until you get hungry, but two hours is optimal.
