Strongest Mountaineer

Join us for this exciting event co-hosted by Campus Recreation and the WVU Powerlifting Club.

How it works:
All participants will compete in four exercise categories: Bench, Squat, Deadlift and Farmer's Walk. For each lift, participants will be asked to do a 1 Rep Maximum. For Farmer's Walk, participants will be asked to walk a distance for time carrying a percentage of their body weight. The Wilks formula will be used to identify winner for 3 lifts and points for Farmer's Carry.
Events and Scoring:
  • Squat (3 max attempts)
  • Bench (3 max attempts)
  • Deadlift (3 max attempts)
  • Farmers Carry (75% of BW)

2019 Event Schedule:

OPTIONAL 24hr hour weigh-in: Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 9 a.m.

Sunday: Full Event Runs 7a.m. - 12 p.m.

  • 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. Weight-ins and 1st lift attempts written
  • 7:45a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Warm-up/Expectations of lifts
  • 8:00 a.m. Competition Begins
