Coronavirus Updates

Here's where you'll find the latest information regarding the effects of COVID-19 on Campus Recreation facilities and programming.

Announcement:

West Virginia Governor Justice has announced that fitness centers, gymnasiums and recreational facilities will soon be permitted to reopen, provided that all guidelines are followed. Campus Recreation is reviewing the guidelines with Campus Operations to determine when the Student Rec Center will open and what services can be safely provided. Rec Center members will be sent updates via email.

Rec Center Closed Until Further Notice.

We recognize that the priority is to minimize the health and safety risks to West Virginia University students, faculty, staff and the entire Morgantown community during this time. Pursuant to the Governor's proclamation and the overall WVU response to COVID-19, the Student Recreation Center closed effective 3/18/2020 at midnight. It will remain closed until further notice.

Membership information will be updated and communicated as soon as possible. All activities, programming and events are happening at alternative locations. For more information on locations and events, please go to the Campus Recreation calendar and/or the Refresh Student Activities series. We apologize for this inconvenience, and encourage all to follow the University's policies.

Thank you for being a part of our active lifestyle and well-being community. As programs and events are closing at West Virginia University, we still encourage individuals to stay active and healthy. Please visit our Rec and Wellness Guide regularly for updates, tips and other resources to help continue your active lifestyle at home!

Please direct any questions to either campusrec@mail.wvu.edu or call us at (304) 293-7529.
